Pastor Mondo confirms sending Shs170k as ‘Mabugo’ when mother of his son died; explains why

Following outrage on social media after reports indicated that renowned city pastor, Franklin Mondo Mugisha of Empowerment Christian Centre Church International, sent in Shs170,000 to dead baby mama Sarah Nakuya’s family as’ ‘Mabugo’, the pastor has defended his contribution.

The mother of Mondo’s 13-year-old son succumbed to a pneumonia attack at Mulago Hospital and was buried a week ago.

The alleged father of the late Nakuya’s child sent only Shs170K to assist the family in retrieving the body from the Mulago mortuary and help with burial arrangements.

Mondo’s contribution was mocked by many on social media. However, the pastor claims to have no shame about his contribution.

“I didn’t attend the burials but I was communicating with the family.

“When the family informed me about the death of Nakuya, I asked them what they needed and they asked for Shs150k to transfer the body from Mulago hospital to Kyengera, and I sent them Shs170k,” Mondo claimed.

As for being the father of Nakuya’s child, Mondo explained that the 13-year-old boy is in his hands and he is taking care of him like the other kids he takes care of. Nonetheless, he said that he won’t believe it is his biological child until DNA tests prove so.

Earlier this year, the late Nakuya ran to the media and accused Mondo of child neglect. She ranted that even the pastor has never cared about his boy since he was born.
