Following the death of the Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Oulanyah, in Seattle, America, his father, Nathan Okori, has said that his son did not die of natural causes.

In a report run by the Daily Monitor, Okori is quoted as having said that his son was poisoned. The report reveals that Okori made the statements during the Virgil at their ancestral home in Omoro district. But he urged Ugandans not to politicize his son’s death.

“I know all of you who have come here are mourners. “Oulanyah’s death is not easy news to welcome because I know he did not die of natural causes, he was poisoned,” “Oulanyah’s father, Okori, was quoted.

Okori further stated that Oulanyah’s death is not easy news to welcome as the cause of his illness began manifesting publicly after he became speaker in May 2021. He then travelled to the US for specialized medical care.

He added that Oulanyah called him and promised to reveal to him certain things.

The information Minister, Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, has since disregarded the poison claims, saying they should wait for a post mortem report.
