A self-proclaimed prophet, Johnson Norman Ogola aka Yesu Muto, was arrested by police on Thursday with his two wives, Jackeline Nakawoya, and the other one’s name was not revealed, two of his followers, John Kiwana and Franklin Kalema, and 14 children.

The group was found at Zana Resort Centre, Kirimanyaga village, in double rooms that had one mattress each. Locals say they spent a night there.

The neighbors tipped off their local councilperson, Micheal Kayondo, who alerted the police.

Church in Nakawa hands over 24-year-old man to police after he asked to be prayed for and confessed to killing 45-year-old woman

“One of the women claiming to be a mother of the eight children told us she is 30 years old and eight of the children were hers,” Kayondo said.

“After just two minutes, she was telling us she had 10. This morning she said she was the mother of five of them, “he added.

While speaking to local television, Ogola claimed that the investigations are not necessary since nine of the children are his and the five belong to his followers.

“I have been in Zana with my children as a family. We had problems like any other person, and I decided to change homes, “Ogola said.

Police are holding the ‘preacher’ at Katwe police station as investigations to rule out the possibility of child trafficking are concluded.
