Early this week, social media was awash with claims that celebrated Ugandan female dancehall musician and Uganda Musicians Association (UMA) presidential candidate, Cindy Sanyu, refused to perform at the show she was booked for in Dubai.

Rumours have it that the ‘Boom Party’ singer refused to perform because the turn up was poor and she wasn’t fully paid.

However, according to our reliable source, the singer didn’t fail to perform because of the poor turn up like it is alleged. Apparently, the Boom Party singer’s management and the promoter failed to agree on the terms and conditions.

It’s said that before Cindy left for Dubai, the promoter booked her for three shows; one in Abu Dhabi, Ahly, and Dubai; but when she landed in Dubai, she was shocked when the promoter informed her management that he was only paying for two events because the third event had been canceled, something her management didn’t agree with.

“Cindy was booked for three shows and even the money they agreed on with the promoter was for those three shows, but the promoter canceled one event and paid her for two shows, something that caused a misunderstanding between the singer’s management and the promoter,” revealed Vibes UG, the event marketer.

According to the marketer, the promoter later agreed with the singer’s management, but unfortunately, the time for the event to continue ongoing had already elapsed.

“Time was against her in Dubai, you know in Dubai, bars are open from 2 pm to 3 am at night but it reached 3 am when Mudra was still performing and she couldn’t perform because it would be breaking the rules.”
