Kasese landslides kill 15, and 18 others still missing

So far, 15 dead bodies have been recovered in Kasese following heavy rain that caused a landslide in Kasika village in Rukoki Subcounty.

According to the Uganda Red Cross Society spokesperson, Irene Nakasiita, seven bodies were recovered this morning while six other injured people were rushed to St. Paul’s Hospital in Kasese Municipality. She disclosed that the majority of the dead were mothers and children.

Nakasiita further revealed that 18 other people are reportedly still missing.
