Moses Matovu, a legendary artist, has finally spoken out about his recent outburst.

A video of Matovu exploding at MP Joseph Ssewungu’s orders earlier this week went viral on social media.

“Your parliament is fake. Nothing is decided during the plenary,” Matovu fumed in the video.

In an interview he gave this morning on URBAN TV, Matovu claimed that a portion of the audience had insulted him.

“I was insulted. Some people were calling us drunkards yet they also drink,” Matovu said.

The veteran singer added that MP Ssewungu also inappropriately approached him.

“When he came on stage and insisted that the performance go on, he didn’t respect me,” said Matovu.

“In Uganda, it’s common practice for some people to disrespect musicians. I chose to speak up at that point,” he added.

He has urged the public to respect artists because they put in a lot of work to be able to give outstanding performances.
