Archbishop of the Church of Uganda (COU), Dr Steven Kazimba Mugalu, has revealed that he is still stuck with millions for cash prizes for virgin girls.

Years ago while he was the Bishop of Mityana Diocese, Kazimba started a campaign to award women that enter matrimony when they are virgins.

He also promised to give a cash reward to any school-going girl who is a virgin. The girls are supposed to undergo an assessment by a team of highly respected born-again women well versed in proving that one is a virgin.

Speaking during the groundbreaking of the construction of Johns Kitanda Church in Mwererwe parish in Wakiso district, Kazimba said that no one has claimed prizes.

“I started the campaign with millions of money to be won. But I have failed to find one to take the cash,” he said.

According to Kazimba, the campaign was inspired by Mary in the bible who was a virgin, and was approached by the angel and told that she was to conceive by the holy spirit and give birth to Jesus Christ.
