Organizers of the Miss Tourism Uganda pageant have kicked off a search for the next beauty queen.

During the pageant launch held at the Explorer Hub, Kololo in Kampala on FridayAisha Nagudi, the Chief Executive Officer of Miss Tourism and one of the pioneers, said they are aiming at a greener Uganda, thus advocating for every Ugandan to plant trees and conserve the environment while attracting tourists.

Just like other editions, Miss Tourism Uganda will move to 12 different regions across the country in search of the next Queen.

The regional search will kick off in May and here participants will be crowned at the regional levels before competing at the national level.

And before the national competition, the regional queens will undergo training in a boot camp, to equip them with knowledge about tourism, and conservation and prepare them as tourism ambassadors.

After receiving all the required training and knowledge on tourism, they will then face off for the Miss Tourism crown in an event that will take place at Kampala Serena Hotel on September 9 2023 under the theme “Greening Tourism.”
