Uganda Cranes goalkeeper Salim Jamal Magoola has been nominated for the Premier Soccer League (PSL) Goalkeeper of the Season award.

His outstanding performances for Richards Bayside in South Africa’s DSTV Premiership earned him a spot on the nomination list, as announced by the PSL on Thursday.

Joining Jamal on the list are Ronwen Williams from Mamelodi Sundowns and Ricardo Goss from SuperSport United.

Since joining Richard Bayside in 2022, Jamal has impressively kept 11 clean sheets in 26 games this season. He has also been recognized with the Man of the Match and Player of the Month (September/October) awards.

His distinctive form caught the attention of the national team selectors, leading to his return to the Cranes’ squad. He made his appearance for the team in the AFCON Qualifier game against Tanzania, marking his first match since March 2021.
