Numerous international media outlets have been reporting that Sweden has made a groundbreaking move by officially recognizing sex as a sport and preparing to host the inaugural European Sex Championship on June 8. However, it turns out that these reports are false.

In April, Swedish news outlet Goterborgs-Posten reported that the Swedish Federation of Sex, headed by Dragan Bratych, had submitted an application to the National Sports Confederation in Sweden. However, the application was ultimately rejected on the grounds of being incomplete.

Contrary to the initial reports, there will be no European Sex Championship taking place in Gothenburg on June 8.

The Swedish National Sports Confederation clarified that the application submitted by the Swedish Sex Federation did not meet the necessary requirements for official recognition.

The said championship was said to span over a six-week period, with participants engaging in various sexual activities across 16 different disciplines, including seduction, oral sex, penetration, and more, according to media reports.

These reports further claimed that 20 individuals from different countries were expected to participate, with a panel of three judges and audience ratings determining the winner.

The organizers allegedly aimed to promote inclusivity by welcoming participants of diverse sexual orientations and expressed hopes that other European nations would adopt similar events in the future.

Dragan Bratych, the chairman of the so-called Swedish Federation of Sex, argued that the recognition of sex as a sport was inevitable, stating, “Just like any other sport, achieving desired results in sex requires training. Therefore, it is only logical for people to start competing in this domain as well,” as quoted by the Times of India.

However, it is important to clarify that Sweden has not made sex an official sport, and the reports surrounding the European Sex Championship are false. The National Sports Confederation’s rejection of the application stands as evidence that such claims are baseless and inaccurate.
