The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has dismissed Kira Municipality Member of Parliament (MP) Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda from his role as Chief Whip.

This development was confirmed through a formal letter written by FDC’s Secretary-General, Nandala Mafabi, and addressed to the Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among.

With immediate effect, the party has appointed Yusuf Nsibambi to assume the position of Chief Whip.

The dismissal of Ssemujju coincides with internal discord brewing within the FDC. These internal struggles have been primarily centered around allegations of “dirty money.” The genesis of these tensions can be traced back to Ssemujju, who raised allegations against both Nandala Mafabi and the party’s president, Patrick Amuriat.

Ssemujju claimed that Mafabi and Amuriat accepted monetary contributions from President Museveni’s camp to finance their 2021 election campaigns. These allegations have ignited a fiery controversy within the FDC, casting a shadow over the party’s unity and integrity.
