Reach A Hand Uganda – a youth-centred non-profit organisation focused on youth empowerment programs, and Sauti Plus Media Hub – a full-service social behavioural change communication agency – has unveiled a partnership with two Nigerian production houses – Sozo Films and Ramsey Films – for the production of the third season of the ‘Kyaddala’ TV series.

Humphrey Nabimanya – founder and CEO of Reach A Hand Uganda addressing guests.

The partnership was announced during a press briefing at Sauti Plus Media Hub’s offices in Buziga, during which Humphrey Nabimanya – the founder and CEO of Reach A Hand Uganda (RAHU), said, “The first two seasons of Kyaddala depicted the lives of young people and the issues they face in society such as gender-based violence, drug abuse, HIV/AIDS and more, and to build on the educational impact of the show, we have initiated this partnership to foster collaboration to give the conversation a pan-African scope through which to increase the impact on the lives of young people in Uganda while also calling for a shift in policy.”

He added that 90% of the season will be shot in Uganda and 10% in Nigeria.

Chris Odeh addresses the press as Anita Fabiola looks on.

Chris Odeh, an African filmmaker, CEO and Senior Producer of Sozo Films – a film and TV production company creating short films and conscious messages for NGOs, said, “We’ve been working for the past year trying to figure out a partnership between Nigeria and Uganda and were glad when RAHU reached out. We have a few mind-blowing films in the works, but decided to start with a flagship project that’s already established and structured – which is Kyaddala, and we shall be exploring ways of taking the story beyond Uganda, to the rest of Africa and the world through the major streaming platforms.”

Odeh revealed that the show’s third season will have the legendary Ramsey Nouah as part of the cast.

Nouah – an actor, director and founder of Ramsey Films, said, “It’s an honour to be a part of this and I’m glad that we agreed to execute this partnership which will help us elevate each other in every possible way, and we intend to take Kyaddala to the next level.”

Anita Fabiola speaks to guests.

Anita Kyarimpa – aka Anita Fabiola – the Ugandan actress and media personality who appeared in the first two seasons of the TV show, said, “We started filming the first season in the hope that whoever watched it would walk away with a lesson that would change their lives or the lives of someone they know, and I’m proud to lend my likeness and influence to a platform that is both entertaining and influential to help young people navigate through everyday life, and the rest of the cast holds the same values.”

Filming for season 3 of Kyaddala begins in the first week of October 2024.
