Ugandan rapper Zedmonk Ssabatontomi, whose real name is Akram Kabuubi, is still going strong on his ambitious mission to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest rap marathon by an individual.

Zedmonk, who started his attempt last Friday at Namaste Restaurant and Bar in Kampala, has already surpassed the current record held by Japanese rapper Poney, who set the bar at 48 hours and 10 minutes in 2023.

The Ugandan rapper is now aiming to reach 80 hours, a goal that can be achieved if he continues pushing until 8 p.m. today.

Zedmonk will have to wait for official confirmation of the record after submitting his evidence to the Guinness World Records team.

For starters, Zedmonk was born on November 18, 2003, and began his rapping journey in 2019 during his Senior Four vacation. He released his debut song, “Byokola,” as a tribute to Andy Events Music label and promoter Zest, who gave him his first musical breakthrough.

Since then, he has been growing from strength to strength, transforming into a multi-talented individual with an impressive portfolio. He is an award-winning artist, freelance actor, freestyler, and humanitarian, serving as an Ambassador for Women and Girls Uganda.

Additionally, he is an influencer with RapAdverts, the Founder and CEO of TRT Entertainment Africa, and the Founder of the Zedmonk Foundation. He also hosts an online hip-hop show called RapWithZedmonk.
