This Saturday, the Kampala Hash House Harriers (KH3) affectionately known as a ‘drinking club with a running problem’ are gearing up for their much-anticipated annual relay event dubbed the “KH3 Kampala Jinja Relay.”

The Tusker Lite sponsored relay which is scheduled to start at 6 am from Kira Town Council roundabout will see 36 teams from Kampala and beyond embarking on a 96 km journey through the lush sugar plantations of the Sugar Corporation of Uganda and the Mabira Forest Reserve, all the way to Jinja.

With participants from Uganda, Nigeria, Kenya, Ethiopia, Togo, and Rwanda, this year’s event promises a vibrant mix of local and international flavour.

The vibrant running social club states that their primary objective is to promote physical fitness among its members while actively participating in corporate social responsibility initiatives and enjoying themselves.

“This year’s Kampala Jinja Relay is not just about the run, it’s about building a sense of community and giving back. The relay not only promotes physical fitness but also fosters a sense of community and corporate social responsibility,” said Wilberforce Kyambadde, KH3 Kampala Jinja Relay organiser.

As a brand committed to promoting an active lifestyle and creating vibrant community experiences, Tusker Lite has been a proud sponsor of numerous running events, including the Tusker Lite Rwenzori Marathon, Kampala Night Run, and 7 Hills. This year, Tusker Lite has partnered with KH3 to bring this exhilarating event to life.

“We are thrilled to partner with the Kampala Hash House Harriers for this year’s KH3 Kampala Jinja Relay. As Tusker Lite, we believe in promoting an active lifestyle while enjoying the finer things in life, like a refreshing beer after a good run. This partnership is a perfect fit for us, as it embodies our spirit of fun, adventure, and community,” said Patience Aguti, Tusker Lite Brand Rep.

“The KH3 Kampala Jinja Relay is a perfect prelude to the upcoming Tusker Lite Mt. Rwenzori Marathon on August 24th. Runners can use this relay as an excellent training opportunity to prepare for the marathon adventure that awaits. The brand encourages all participants to join us in celebrating both events,” she added.

The run is set to bring together runners and beer enthusiasts for an ultimate beerful relay, a weekend of fitness, fun, and unforgettable memories.

The registration fee of Shs70,000 includes participation in the relay, beers, sodas, water, dinner on Saturday, and lunch on Sunday. The relay will culminate in a lively after-party at the Source of the Nile Hotel in Jinja, featuring music, fun activities, and an all-night celebration.

So, lace up your running shoes, grab a Tusker Lite, and join the Kampala Hash House Harriers for a relay like no other. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just in it for the beer, this is one event you won’t want to miss!
