Speke Apartments Gym flies in Austrian health fitness trainers to equip instructors with fitness training knowledge

Speke Apartments Gym has taken a significant step towards enhancing professionalism in their fitness services. The management of the Wampewo Avenue based facility recently flew in expert trainers from Beyond Fitness Academy in Austria, to conduct a comprehensive training program for their fitness instructors.

The training, which was broken into four phases, covered essential topics such as body anatomy, nutrition, personal training skills, and back pain management.

Bashir Kabanda, a senior instructor at Speke Apartments Gym expressed his enthusiasm for the training, stating that it has equipped him with the knowledge to design effective and healthy workouts for clients.

He further explained that the training will enable him and his team to effectively train individuals with various health conditions, such as back and joint pain, and help them overcome these challenges.

“Understanding body anatomy, nutrition, and personal training skills is crucial for effective exercise programs, and additionally, learning how to train individuals with back pain and aid in their recovery is vital for a well-rounded fitness approach,” Kabanda said.

This investment in professional development is expected to improve the services at Speke Apartments Gym and thereby ensure the well-being of their clients.


Victor Kakuba, another senior trainer at Speke Apartments Gym noted that whereas the facility is the biggest in the country, it was crucial that its specialized staff acquire skills that can help them serve clients better.

“This is undoubtedly the biggest gym in Uganda, and now that we have acquired deeper skills in fitness, we shall definitely serve our clients better, and ensure our services are worth the investment,” he said.

Speke Apartments Gym boasts of state of the art equipment that is automated to monitor workout routines, including measuring heart rate, burnt calories, distance, and time covered among other things. Daily charges for Speke Gym are Shs 40,000 per day.
