Shakib Lutaaya has claimed that he financially supports himself, as his wife, Zari Hassan, who many think bankrolls his lifestyle, is too stingy.

In the leaked audio, believed to be a conversation between Shakib and a media personality, Shakib says that he works hard for himself and isn’t dependent on Zari.

“I hustle like a man to survive,” Shakib says before revealing the highest amount of money he has ever received from Zari.

“The only time she gave me cash was during a trip to Tanzania, where she was given around $40,000 (about Shs150 million), and she handed me just $2,000 (about Shs7.4 million),” he said.

In the audio, Shakib also expressed his deep dissatisfaction with Zari, accusing her of failing to shield him from public embarrassment.

“Many times, her public actions have resulted in people trolling me on social media. Her behaviour shows a lack of respect for me,” he said.

He recounted the weekend incident where Zari went live on social media after videos of her and baby daddy Diamond Platinumz surfaced, and she ranted about how she supports him as he has nothing to bring to the table.

“I can’t defend myself on social media, as Zari is more popular than me. Such situations depress me,” he said.

Shakib stated that going forward, if they are to reconcile, their relationship is not going to be about love but rather mutual benefits.
