Abba Marcus, the eldest son of music icon Jose Chameleone and Daniella Atim, has opened up about his father’s health struggles, revealing that the star is battling acute pancreatitis caused by prolonged alcohol use.

In an emotional TikTok video, Marcus shared that Chameleone’s alcohol addiction has impacted his health, contributing to his recent weight loss.

“My father struggles with alcohol addiction… something he’s been grappling with for quite some time,” Marcus revealed.

Expressing dismay at the public backlash against his mother, Daniella Atim, Marcus defended her, saying that she is not to blame for his father’s situation. He called for more understanding and support for their family during this difficult time.

Marcus went on to attribute some of his father’s struggles — as well as challenges faced by his late uncles — to what he described as a legacy of irresponsibility within the family.

“It’s the complete and utter irresponsibility of the parents,” he remarked, referring to Chameleone’s upbringing.

What shocked Marcus most, however, is what he perceives as indifference from Chameleone’s immediate family. “Nobody would know who the Mayanjas were if it wasn’t for my father,” he said, criticizing the lack of support from Chameleone’s parents and siblings.

He also expressed frustration that his father’s friends seem to prioritize Chameleone’s financial contributions over his well-being.

Doctors have reportedly issued a dire warning: if Chameleone does not address his drinking problem, he may have as little as two years left to live. Marcus urged for a united effort to help his father recover.

“We need to work together to get my father the help that he needs,” he pleaded.
