Police in Kamuli district have arrested a woman, Kevin Nabirye, on charges of attempted murder after she allegedly mutilated her husband’s genitals in a violent domestic attack.

The victim, identified as 37-year-old Mathias Bwamiki, was reportedly asleep when he was jolted awake by excruciating pain at around 11:00 p.m. on the night of February 18. The gruesome incident took place at their home in Buguwa village, Kawaga parish, Balawoli sub-county.

According to Bwamiki, his wife accused him of comparing her to other women on the social media platform TikTok. As he struggled to defend himself, she allegedly warned him that if he ever “tampered with her” again, she would resort to poisoning herself.

Busoga North police spokesperson, Michael Kasadha, revealed that the attack was first reported by the victim’s brother, Godfrey Mukubo, who received a distress call from Bwamiki. Upon reaching the scene, Mukubo found his brother bleeding profusely and immediately rushed him to Kamuli General Hospital before notifying the police.

Kasadha confirmed that the police have recovered key exhibits from the crime scene as part of their ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, Nabirye remains in custody as authorities piece together the full details of the shocking attack.
