The Uganda Cranes have officially kicked off their preparations in Marrakech, Morocco, ahead of two scheduled international friendlies.
The team will take on Cameroon on Thursday, June 6, followed by a clash with The Gambia on Sunday, June 9. Both matches serve as part of the build-up to the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN), set to take place later this year.

Uganda, alongside Kenya and Tanzania, will co-host the CHAN tournament, which features only players active in their respective domestic leagues.
Of the 28 players summoned by Head Coach Paul Put, 20 traveled from Uganda on Monday. Notably, forward Muhammad Shaban was called up to replace John Paul Dembe, who withdrew from the squad due to unforeseen circumstances.

An additional eight foreign-based players are expected to join the camp directly in Marrakech. These include Jordan Obita, Toby Sibbick, Elio Capradossi, Elvis Bwomono, Allan Oyirwoth, Bobosi Byaruhanga, Isaac Muleme, and Steven Mukwala.
