The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has officially released the timetables for the 2025 national examinations, paving the way for more than 1.4 million learners to sit their final papers this academic year.

The examinations will cover the three major levels: Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE), all beginning next month.

UNEB Executive Director, Daniel Odongo, announced that UCE candidates will kick off the season with a mandatory briefing by head teachers on October 10. The briefing is designed to familiarise learners with examination regulations and guidelines before the start of papers.

The first UCE papers will be sat on October 13, beginning with Geography in the morning and Biology (theory) in the afternoon.

The exams will run for nearly a month, ending on November 7 with Technology and Design (Design and Drawing) in the morning session and Arabic (Reading Comprehension and Writing) in the afternoon.

PLE candidates will have their briefing on October 31 before beginning their exams on November 3. The first day will feature Mathematics in the morning, followed by Social Studies and Religious Education in the afternoon. The examinations will conclude with Integrated Science in the morning and English in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, UACE candidates are also expected to follow their timetable, with key subject papers spread across the scheduled weeks.

The release of the timetables comes as schools intensify preparations, with UNEB reminding candidates, parents, and teachers to strictly adhere to the set guidelines to ensure smooth conduct of the examinations.
