The 2025 Masaza Cup semi-finals exploded into life on Sunday, producing two thrilling away victories as Kyaggwe and Ssingo stunned their hosts in the first-leg encounters.
In Mubende, Kyaggwe earned a priceless 1–0 win over Buweekula, while in Ntenjeru, Ssingo mounted a spirited comeback to edge Bugerere 2–1, leaving both ties finely balanced ahead of the decisive return legs.

The clash between Buweekula and Kyaggwe at the Mubende National Training College Grounds was a bruising tactical duel dominated by midfield battles and solid defending. The first half ended goalless, but after the restart, Kyaggwe’s forward Geoffrey Ssenyonga broke the deadlock with a composed finish that ultimately decided the game. His standout performance earned him the Man of the Match accolade.
Buweekula launched waves of late attacks in search of an equaliser, but Kyaggwe’s disciplined defence held firm to preserve their lead — and a crucial away goal — heading into the second leg.
“What a spectacle from both players and fans here in Mubende,” said Kenneth Amanyire, the Pilsner King Marketing Representative for Mubende, after the match.
“These slim one-goal margins set up an intense second leg. We urge fans to show up and cheer their teams to the finish — we can’t wait to see who earns a spot in the 2025 Masaza Cup final.”

Over in Ntenjeru, Bugerere made a bright start, taking the lead through Henry Wamala. But their advantage didn’t last long as Shaban Kayondo equalised for Ssingo before half-time.
The defining moment arrived in the 53rd minute when Bugerere’s Osman Mayanja missed a penalty, allowing Ssingo to turn the tide. Minutes later, Ismael Rwimitala struck the winner — a goal that sealed victory and earned him Man of the Match honours.

With the first legs settled by the slimmest of margins, the return fixtures on October 19 promise drama and intensity in equal measure. All four teams still have everything to fight for as they chase the ultimate prize — a coveted place in the 2025 Masaza Cup final at Ham Stadium.
