Italians in Uganda to celebrate the ‘Italian Cultural Week’

Organised by the Italian Embassy in Uganda, the ‘Italian Culture week’ is set to commence on the 20 and will run till the 25 November.

The event will open with a gala dinner and the screenplay of Italian director Vincenzo Marra’s latest film, L’Equilibrioat the Residence of the Ambassador of Italy as they celebrate their rich culture with together with the people of Uganda.

The culture week will also showcase different types of Italian foods, the various dress codes, wines and literature.

Speaking at the press conference, the Italian Ambassador His Excellency Domenico Fornara also noted that theEmbassy together with the Entebbe CoRSU rehabilitation Hospital will launch a fundraising campaign to help disabled children in Uganda.

“We always like to link culture with solidarity and while we do this, it is fair to support the less unfortunate especially the young people with disabilities. CORSU are doing an incredible job when it comes to providing health service to the young children .So I encourage anyone out there to support the cause”.

During the Italian restaurants Mediterraneo and DiVino, will accompany their customers on a culinary journey to learn about the cuisines and wines typical of some Italian regions.

The Italian Cultural Week is supposed by VSI, Bayimba, Café Latte, CAIU – Cultural Association of Italians in Uganda, CityTyres, Honorary Consulate of the Swiss Confederation, Corsu, COWA – Centenary Vocational Training School, DiVino, Emirates, Goethe-Zentrum, The Mediterranean, Inspire Africa, Kampala Film School, LINOVE, Sheraton Kampala Hotel, 7 Hills International School.
