Ugandan business magnate Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia is among the prominent keynote speakers confirmed for the 15th Annual UK-Africa Investment Summit, set for September 12, 2025, at The Royal Horseguards Hotel & One Whitehall Place in London.

Recognised as the UK’s flagship platform for trade and investment with the African continent, the summit will bring together over 500 high-level participants from government, business, finance, and development sectors. The event seeks to foster meaningful partnerships that support sustainable growth, regional integration, and the expansion of exports across key sectors.

Headlining the summit is Prof. Luis Franceschi, Assistant Secretary General of The Commonwealth. Dr. Ruparelia, founder and Chairman of the Ruparelia Group, will share insights on the private sector’s evolving role in East Africa’s economic transformation.

Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa will present Uganda’s legislative and institutional efforts to attract foreign direct investment and ensure a competitive, investor-friendly environment.

Uganda will be strongly represented at the summit by a delegation of senior government officials. Gen. David Muhoozi, Minister of State for Internal Affairs, will address regional security and its role in safeguarding investment.

Ruth Nankabirwa, Minister of Energy and Mineral Development, will unveil Uganda’s energy strategy and explore opportunities for collaboration in renewables. Evelyn Anite, State Minister for Finance in charge of Investment and Privatization, will outline Uganda’s privatization agenda and showcase sectors open for foreign investment. Lt. Gen. Joseph Musanyufu, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Internal Affairs; Francis Mwebesa, Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives; and Musa Ecweru, Minister of Works and Transport, will each speak on trade facilitation, industrialization, infrastructure, and the expanding role of public-private partnerships.

The summit will feature panel discussions and networking forums focusing on pressing issues such as climate change, youth employment, digital innovation, and the future of Africa-UK economic relations. Sectors under the spotlight will include ICT, finance, agriculture, real estate, manufacturing, health, and renewable energy—all strategically aligned to enhance trade and investment flows between East Africa and the UK.

Delegates will include venture capitalists, private equity executives, institutional investors, infrastructure developers, policy experts, diaspora entrepreneurs, financial institutions, and international media representatives. The event offers a rare opportunity for direct engagement with decision-makers, access to investment leads, and deeper understanding of policy landscapes shaping business in East Africa.

In addition to showcasing Uganda’s investment potential, the summit will also provide critical civic services to Ugandans living in the UK. The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) will offer on-site services for national ID registration and renewal—an initiative aimed at empowering the diaspora with easier access to identification documents required for property rights, civic participation, and travel.

The 2025 UK-Africa Investment Summit is not only an economic platform—it is also a call to action for Uganda’s diaspora to engage in national development through entrepreneurship, advocacy, and public service.
