Equity Bank Uganda has partnered with SafeBoda, a leading ride-hailing and on-demand services platform, in a strategic move to enhance access to digital financial services across the country.

The collaboration comes as SafeBoda marks its 10th anniversary of operations in Uganda—a milestone Equity Bank is proudly supporting as a sponsor of the celebrations, as confirmed in recent social media announcements.

At the heart of this partnership is a new feature integrated into the SafeBoda app that allows users to transfer money directly from their SafeBoda wallets to bank accounts, including those held with Equity Bank. This functionality enables customers to conveniently send funds either to their own Equity accounts or to others, significantly improving ease of transactions for SafeBoda’s large and growing user base.

The initiative aligns with Equity Bank Uganda’s broader mission to drive socio-economic transformation through innovative digital solutions. By collaborating with SafeBoda, the bank is reinforcing its commitment to financial inclusion by leveraging technology to bring banking services closer to everyday Ugandans.

Beyond the initial rollout of direct transfers, the partnership signals potential for deeper integration and wider service offerings aimed at enhancing the user experience on both platforms. It also complements Equity Bank’s ongoing strategy to grow its network of agents and merchants, thereby expanding its footprint and service accessibility throughout the country.
