Beyonce could be coming, but not in December

The joke on social media has been about a Beyonce concert slated for Christmas Eve at Hotel Brovad in Masaka. Mbu Eagles Production and Amarula family were supposed to curtain raise and entrance fee was supposed to be Shs3,000. And the sponsor? Eagle Lager.

Other posters made rounds of a Beyonce show sponsored by Club beer at Speke Resort Munyonyo on December 20 and they looked more legit, more so because Club is known for bringing in international acts. Entrance fee for this one was set at Shs250,000.

Club has brought stars like Sean Paul, Sean Kingston and they recently held a Mega Fest at Namboole stadium, bringing Shaggy, Patra and Burna Boy on one stage.

Matooke Republic reached out to Club beer brand manager Sam Hooper and he distanced Club from a Beyonce show on December 20. However, he didn’t rule out such a show in the near future.

“The posters announcing a Beyonce show on December 20 are fake. But it doesn’t mean we are not planning,” Hooper said.

Asked if there was anything in the works, he replied, “You guys will be the first to know.”

Meanwhile Vision Group also distanced themselves from bogus posters announcing a concert by Beyonce’s husband Jay-Z, also slated or December 20 at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
