Milege World Music Festival gets Bell lager sponsorship boost

Bell Lager has this year come on board to sponsor the Milege World Music Festival which will be held from the 25th to 27th November. The3-day cultural event aims at strengthening the arts and culture sector in Uganda, by providing a platform to showcase cultural music and dance from the African continent in its purest and experimental forms.

Among the top entertainment acts on the line-up are Maddox Sematimba, Rachel Magoola, Giovanni Kiyingi among others.




Themed “Celebrate Africa”, this year’s festival will showcase exceptional talent from various regions of East Africa, including performances from artists like Bengattronics from Kenya, Pal Musica from Congo among others.

“Since inception in 2010, Milegehas given a platform to upcoming Ugandan artists like Sandy Soul, Ruyonga, Davis Ntare and Janzi Band from which they have gone on to scale to even greater heights. As a truly Ugandan brand, Bell Lager is happy to enable a platform such as this one that promotesand showcases the unique and diverse talent Uganda has to offer,” said Roy Tumwizere, National Promotions Manager, Uganda Breweries.

Other activities this year include fishing, biking safaris, boat rides to Ngamba Islands chimpanzee sanctuary, a complimentary visit to Uganda wild life education center, indigenous games, fashion, visual art exhibitions, poetry, storytelling, bird watching, camping, biking,forest walks, and so much more. It is an event for the whole family offering a relaxing and fun experience. Gates open at 10:00am till late.

Tickets are available at Entebbe Airport arrivals, Ngamba Island Chimpanzee sanctuary and Java House outlets or online www.milege.org, Event Brite and Swayhub.

. The event will be held at the Botanical Gardens in Entebbe. If you’re looking for weekend plans out of town, look no further. . Entrance is UGX50, 000 and gives one the convenience of either attending the entire festival or a day of choice as well as access to a well facilitated campsite.
