For the first time ever, Uganda is set to celebrate its music and culture; thanks to efforts by comedian Patrick Idringi aka Salvado and Sheer Solutions Africa Ltd.

Trevor Noah

Salvado and Sheer Solutions are teaming up with junior Tourism minister Godfrey Kiwanda to hold the first-ever Uganda International Music and Culture Week.

The event is scheduled to run from October 29 to November 4 this year. And the event’s biggest draw is rumoured to be South African comedian and Daily Show host- Trevor Noah who will headline the comedy festival on November.

Chaka Demus and Pliers

Legendary dancehall duo Chaka Demus and Pliers will then headline the music festival the following day. The initiative that is expected to tap into the diverse cultural tourism and music will be run under the theme; “Exploring and celebrating Uganda’s cultural diversity.”
