lgnore that list, it doesn’t have signatures of artists- Bebe Cool and other artistes speak out on the trending list

A document ‘addressed’ to the Chief Coordinator Operation Wealth Creation Gen.Salim Saleh with the  United Music Superstar Association letter head is making rounds on social media.
According to the two paged document, a group of musicians through their new association United Music Superstar Association wrote to Gen. Salim Saleh asking him to help provide them with a Shs9 billion stimulus package. 

In the document, UMSA ‘ attached’ a list of 26 musicians with the money they have allegedly lost from the time the entertainment industry was halted.
“I hereby write to your good office requesting for a stimulus budget for our members following their individual loses registered as a result of closure of the music business. It’s our request that this issue is address with urgent concern to save the Uganda music Industry for our members are crucial stake holders,” stated the document.

However, self-proclaimed ‘big size’Moses Ssali popularly known as Bebe Cool whose name appears on the list has revealed that the document is fake.
While speaking to Matooke Republic in a phone interview the ‘make a wish’ singer said that the documents moving on social media are fake noting that they have no signatures for artists.
“Ignore such where you don’t see artists signatures, what do you think?,” Bebe Cool said.

Another musician who chose to remain anonymous said that they are expecting a stimulus package thought he distanced himself from the figures that appeared on the list.
“Now the truth is no one has received that money as people are speculating. Government has a stimulus package that it wants to give musicians but the formulation and calculations that have come out. I don’t know anything about it,” said the musician.

“Anyone can write this, where did you get this information from,” he stated
Our efforts to reach out to other musicians were futile as they neither responded to our texts nor picked up our phone calls.

According to the document Jose Chameleone, the chairperson of the association is stated to have lost Shs800m, while Bebe Cool Shs670m, Pallaso, the speaker of the association is indicated to have lost Shs812m, weasel is said to have lost Shs615m ,David Lutalo lost Shs 420m, King Saha Shs 357m among others.
