Valentine’s Day is here, and in case you’re wondering what Ugandan love songs to add to your playlist to spice up the day, here is our selection.

“Believe” by Vinka and Daxx Vibes

On the official charts, this was the hottest collaboration of 2023, and it should be the first song any lover dedicates to their Valentine. There is a line in which Vinka threatens to romance her lover to the extent that he will call Jesus. That alone makes it an absolute Valentine’s Day fever.

“Take it Slow” by Nwagi and Vyper Ranking

The chemistry between Nwagi and Vyper Ranking in this song is everything lovers should replicate on the fourteenth. Nwagi’s daredevil and Vyper’s ragga muffin swaying away on a wave of sweet nothings are the lover’s ultimate gospel.

“Worship” by Azawi

“Sankofa” did not come with the smash anthems Azawi’s previous projects have been laden with, but with that came an intimacy, and nothing was more intimate than “Worship”. When the flowers, perfume, and dinner date are done, this song should initiate the next proceedings. If you are head over heels for more than just the soul and spirit, and flesh is your cup of tea, learn from Azawi.

“Sheebah: Only girl”

If any girl out there has territorial issues, this Valentine’s is the time to declare them and man mark your man. “Only Girl” should not only be on loud but also repeat.

“Ndi wuwo” by Elijah Kitaka:

There is a reason why this Extended Play is called “Bedroom Essentials”. According to the label executives, this album is for people 21 and older, as it indeed belongs to the confines of the bedroom. A standout song for the lovers on this EP is “Ndi Wuwo”. If this is a meal, it is a five-course meal specifically tailored to the needs of anyone and everybody in love.

“Bedroom Essentials, The EP”

When all is said and done, the Valentine’s gifts are not the flowers, the chocolates, and the dinner dates. It’s the bedroom essentials. And what better way to consume the essentials than with “Bedroom Essentials.”

“Akiiki” by Alien Skin

Valentine’s Day is not dedicated to the mushy alone. Love can take on a much bouncier and wilder groove. If you identify as a badman and your girlfriend identifies as a church girl, Alien Skin’s “Akiiki” can be a codebook on how to go about that particular situation without the fragrance of romance being absent from the air.

“Pretty Pretty (The remix)” by King Saha and Feffe Buusi

If there is a day simps get away with whatever it is we know they do, it is Valentine’s. In fact, he who is not a simp will not make a return on investment on this day. This remix was a master class in the sort of poetry and melody required to woo your significant other on the big day.

“Sugar mama” by JPC again and Jowy Landa

Now it doesn’t matter the message of this song. Nothing brings the heat to body language like this song does. The chemistry of Jowy and JPC is simply immense. And in those cases where one partner is overwhelmingly older than the other, happy Valentine’s for this is the perfect gift, especially for the campus student that will blast the day away with a sugar daddy.

“Benti boys: Wanawankya”

This love ballad by this duo is incredible. A dedication to that one special lover, with a clear intention written all over it. If you cannot hide your intentions for whoever it is on Valentine’s Day, this is a song you should wake them up to.

“A blast from the past: Nkuweki, Iryn Namubiru”

Timeless music always wins. This Valentine’s, take him or her down memory lane and consummate bliss with throwback sounds from Iryn.
