Renowned veteran producer Kayiwa Mukasa, also known as Paddy Man, has stated that he will never produce songs with vulgar lyrics.

Speaking in an interview on a local TV station, Paddy Man revealed that he has encountered musicians who come to his studio with inappropriate content for recording sessions. He explained that in such cases, he typically refunds their money.

“When an artist comes to my recording studio and starts recording inappropriate content, I refund their money and let them go because I can never produce such songs,” said Paddy Man.

The veteran producer emphasized the urgent need to filter out content that goes against societal morals.

Paddy Man’s comments come at a time when singers Gravity Omutujju and Lil Pazo are facing criticism for vulgarity in their music. The Uganda National Cultural Centre (UNCC) recently proposed a ban on their performances at events.

The UNCC’s proposal followed remarks by the Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, who condemned the vulgarity in the two musicians’ songs. He also instructed Buganda Kingdom media stations, CBS and BBS, not to play their music.
