Uganda Waragi has today announced a partnership in support of Anne Kansiime’s debut Comedy Grill, set to take place on May 9th at the Sheraton Gardens in Kampala.

True to the bold and refreshing spirit of Uganda Waragi Lemon & Ginger, this first-of-its-kind event will feature a humorous roast of Africa’s Queen of Comedy, Anne Kansiime, with the aim of celebrating and elevating Kampala’s comedy scene.

This groundbreaking comedy experience promises a night of sharp wit, laughter, and the authentic Ugandan spirit of humor.

“Uganda Waragi is the heartbeat of Ugandan celebration,” said Hillary Baguma, Brand Manager for Mainstream Spirits at Uganda Breweries. “By sponsoring The Comedy Grill of Anne Kansiime, we’re backing authentic talent and giving comedy a platform to shine. As Uganda Waragi Lemon & Ginger, we take pride in being bold and refreshing, so we’re thrilled to provide the perfect spark for this pioneering event.”

The Comedy Grill will feature a stellar lineup of “Grill Chefs,” including Salvador, Madrat and Chico, Nana Kagga, GNL Zamba, Gaetano Kagwa, Dr. Miria Matembe, Prim Asiimwe, Sky, Sheila Gashumba, and Daniel Omara, all hosted by Tuwangye Richard and Deedan Muyiira.

Together, they will “grill” and toast Kansiime in a comedy showdown like no other. The announcement itself came with a twist—a mini roast involving Kansiime, MC Daniel Omara, and fellow comedians present at the launch, offering a sneak peek of what to expect at the main event.

“Uganda’s comedy scene is about to get a whole lot hotter—and with Lemon & Ginger, we’re ready to serve laughter with a twist,” said Anne Kansiime.
