If you’ve been waiting for the perfect excuse to grab your picnic mat and your favourite people, this is it! The Roast and Rhyme: Soul on Strings Edition, organised by Swangz Avenue, is set for Sunday, November 2 at the Hockey Grounds, Lugogo — and it promises to be the most soulful edition yet.

Now in its 24th edition, Roast and Rhyme has evolved from a casual music-and-meat gathering into a full-blown cultural experience — one that celebrates the best of Ugandan music, food, and outdoor fun in a truly premium setting.

This “Soul on Strings” edition will feature some of Uganda’s finest voices, including Aziz Azion, Nince Henry, Tracy Melon, Vyroota, and Aaronx, among others. Expect rich acoustic performances, smooth vocals, and a soulful atmosphere that lives up to the theme.

And of course, Roast and Rhyme wouldn’t be complete without the legendary meat experience. A carefully selected lineup of top grill masters will be serving Kampala’s finest barbecue and nyama choma — the kind of flavour that fills the air before the first guitar string is even strummed.

Revellers are encouraged to carry their picnic mats and camping chairs for the ultimate laid-back experience, because comfort is part of the vibe.

Over the years, Roast and Rhyme has grown into a platform that not only celebrates live Ugandan music but also fosters a vibrant, homegrown entertainment culture — proudly Ugandan, yet world-class.

Gates open at 11 AM, with guaranteed security to ensure a safe and relaxed environment for all.

Tickets: Early Bird – Shs 70,000, Gate – Shs 100,000, VVIP – Shs 200,000. Available via the FlexiPay App or by dialling *291#.
