Latest news coming from organisers of the much-anticipated Blankets and Wine slated for this Sunday 15th December, is that there has been a venue change for the picnic themed music festival.

The Tusker Malt Lager sponsored event, which will be headlined by American star Jidenna, will now be held at the Indian Association Grounds opposite KCCA Stadium in Lugogo.

“Due to the current rains and several events that have been held at the Cricket Oval in the recent past, the grounds are not in the best state to host the picnic style event that Blankets & Wine is known for. We have secured a new venue to give our clients and fans the very best experience come Sunday,” said Philip Mukusaba, Events Manager, House of DJs.

It looks as though 2019’s anthem, “Parte after Parte” literally took it’s toll on the iconic venue rendering it unusable for Sunday’s Blankets & Wine picnic-style event.

Jidenna, the American star of Nigerian descent arrived in the country on Sunday ahead of the Blanket’s & Wine show and can’t wait to wow fans. He will share the stage with Toniks and Evon among other local acts.

Organisers have reassured the public that the event programme remains unchanged. Gates will open at midday and the event will go on till midnight. They also gave a security assurance to the public.

“For every Blankets & Wine event, security is paramount. We have engaged different security agencies and we can guarantee safety of persons and property at our new venue,” Mukusaba said.

Fans should look forward to the revamped Tusker Malt beer garden and the VVIP deck that premiered at the August edition.

Tickets to the event are still available at The Wine Garage Muyenga, Kenji’s Cocktail Bar and Zone 7 at only UGX 100,000.  Hurry while supplies last!
