Celebrities unite over soccer to raise cash for charity

It was all love and unity on Sunday 5th as celebrities put their differences aside and came together to raise funds for charity in a celebrity soccer match. The celebrity unisex charity match was organized by Bushington, Alex Muhangi, Miles Rwamiti and guitarist Mike Ouma with sponsorship from Racers bar.

The match was aimed at raising funds for Home of hope, Jinja, a charity home founded by mama Edith in 2007 and looks after 75 kids suffering from Down’s syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, HIV,epilepsy among other health complications.

Various celebrities from different spheres of entertainment came to show support to the noble cause. Among these were Bebe Cool, Sheebah, Salvado, A Pass, Fik Fameica, Gravity, MC Mariachi and a plethora of other music artistes, media personalities, and comedians.

Over 30 million shillings was raised through the fundraiser and a lot of food and products for home use were purchased for the charity home.

Mama EdithLukabwe started this home after her son suffered from cerebral palsy and died. She dedicated her life to taking care of kids with such disabilities and diseases.

“We were able to make the first payment on the land that we are acquiring for the children, I am very grateful to everyone that took time off to come for the celebrity charity match,” said Lukabwe.

Different celebrities pledged money and promised to clear their pledges before March.
