Design Hub has come out to give full support to this year’s Shebang Fashion Show. This was confirmed by Jean Makkie, the Manager of Design Hub, a space meant for creatives to showcase their art.

Moving forward, Design Hub has confirmed that it will be giving a free venue to the organisers of the Menstrual Shebang home each year and the hub becomes a confirmed home for the fashion show.

The show will happen this year on May 28, 2023, with seven different fashion designers showcasing outfits and designs that address issues of menstrual hygiene and sexual reproductive health and rights.

The Shebang show was started by Shyaaka Farid Lwanyaaga three years ago to address issues of menstrual hygiene and sexual reproductive health and rights by using fashion as a tool of execution.

For every event he holds on world menstrual hygiene day every year, Lwanyaaga uses all the proceeds and puts them to use at the menstrual station in Kisenyi.

The station was set up to help girls in Kisenyi slums access free sanitary pads and also menstrual hygiene lessons for young girls.

This edition will have seven different designers whose fashion showcase will address climate change among other issues.
