Equity Bank powers Drugs Express Team with Shs20msponsorship package ahead of SMC Masaka Rally

Equity Bank has announced its support for the Drugs Express Team by providing sponsorship of Shs20million. This comes just before the much-anticipated Southern Motor Club (SMC) Masaka Rally, scheduled for April 13and 14at E-Villas Park in Kalisizo.

The announcement follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Equity Bank and the Drugs Express Rally Team at the Bank’s branch in Masaka on Friday.

In her remarks, Clare Gatabi Tumwesigye, Equity Bank Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, said, “Thrilled to announce our sponsorship of the Drugs Express Rally Team, where passion meets performance on every twist and turn. So, here is to accelerating success, pushing boundaries at every twist and turn with our community at heart

Equity Bank and Drugs Express rally team MOU sign off by Equity Bank head of marketing Clare Tumwesigye and Dr. Moustapha Mukasa.

Dr. Moustapha Mukasa, team leader at the Drugs Express Rally Team, lauded Equity Bank for the support and promised to be a contender. “’ The commitment of Equity Bank to support our team shows their dedication to fostering talent through social investment and to promoting the spirit of adventure and competition,’’ said Mukasa.

He added, ‘’We promise our team, fans, families, friends, sponsors, and the FMU fraternity that we shall do our very best as we continue showcasing our capabilities’’.

The Masaka SMC Rally was flagged off by Ms Tumwesigye, and Mukasa, Team Lead at Drugs Express Rally Team at Hotel Next in Masaka. The rally is organized by the Federation of Motorsports Clubs of Uganda and will feature 31 participating teams from across Uganda.

Equity Group Holdings Plc posted a 55% growth in Profit After Tax to Kshs. 75.5 billion, up from Kshs. 48.8 billion in the same reporting period in 2024, marking a record performance driven by its successful strategic transformation. The Board proposed a dividend payout of Kshs. 21.7 billion, translating to Kshs. 5.75 per share, a 35.3% increase from Kshs. 16 billion (Kshs. 4.25 per share) in 2024.
