With everything that has happened so far, it is safe to say that 2026 is still on a loop; the year starts and starts all over again! From a long January, to the elections- a lot has been experienced already.
Well, Thrones Lounge- Bugolobi, together with The Singleton, are set to spice up the long January with the Big Meeting this Sunday.
The Big Meeting is a unique experience that blends music, culture, and high-end whisky, and happens every last Sunday of the month,
Over the editions, they have included unique creative twists such as Sip and Paint, as well as DIY (Do It Yourself) cocktail workshops, which gave revellers a chance to mix their own drinks.
It’s a twist that has been carried on more than once and revellers love it.

With socialites having their hands at the craft during last editions, the monthly event has become a bonding moment where people make both perfect and questionable mixtures.
Simon Lapyem, the Singleton Brand Manager for East Africa noted that; “The Big Meeting was created as a deliberate pause in a fast-moving world — a space where people can slow down, connect, and engage with whisky beyond the glass.”
“Every edition is designed to feel intimate yet elevated, encouraging guests to experiment, express themselves, and build shared moments around The Singleton. Whether it’s through music, art, or crafting their own cocktails, the goal is always to make whisky feel personal, social, and memorable,” Lapyem added.
The past editions have been graced by amazing talents such as Nigerian artist Nonso Amadi, Vinka and the king of soul himself- Maurice Kirya.
The event has also highlighted amazing deejays like DJ Kasbaby, DJ Dash, and DJ Jerry- among others.
As 2026 kicks off, The Big Meeting comes back with its usual energy, but for the beginning, they are keeping it as a home affair- with a familiar host and DJs.
Lynda Ddane, a regular at The Big Meeting will be the host of the first outing of 2026. Over the many editions, Lynda has mesmerised with her DJ sets, yet on other days, she has done what many people have known her for over the years, being a host.
She will bring the experience, vibe and the energy which got her the moniker- Queen of Happiness.

But Lynda Ddane won’t be the only one to spice up the party. She will be joined by a stellar line up of DJs such as Nova, Big E, Em That Guy, Kamali, Sir Aludah, Kasbaby, DJ Ssese and Esau, among others. Of course, all these DJs have skill sets that make them unique and a flavour for the party. Kamali brings the party to life with Afro-electronic beats, while Sir Aludah, being an institution in his own right, is always there to remind us that kidandali is going nowhere.
Most of the DJs at The Big Meeting this Sunday are revered and celebrated, yet the organisers say that this is just the beginning, they are only raising the ante this year.
