In celebration of Women’s Month, Yalelo Uganda has announced an enhancement to its maternity leave policy, increasing paid maternity leave from 60 working days to 90 working days for all eligible employees.
The revised policy also adjusts leave days for employees on six-day work schedules to ensure that all women across the organisation are able to take approximately 4.5 months of paid maternity leave.
The company says the move reflects its continued commitment to supporting working women and strengthening the wellbeing of employees.
“At Yalelo Uganda, we believe that building strong communities starts with supporting the women who power our workplace every day,” the company said in a statement. “Welcoming a child is an important life moment, and it is essential that mothers have the time they need to recover, bond with their newborns, and transition into this new chapter of life.”
The enhancement forms part of Yalelo Uganda’s broader commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace that promotes gender equality, employee wellbeing, and sustainable careers for women.
By expanding its maternity leave provision, the company aims to create an environment where women can thrive professionally while receiving the support they need during important family milestones.
The updated maternity leave policy takes effect immediately.
