Kampala witnessed a vibrant fusion of culture, creativity, and football as Guinness Smooth partnered with Ekikumba Fusion for a special Sportainment edition of the Guinness Smooth Creators Lab at the Centenary Park Turf Complex. The experience brought to life the brand’s Make It Yours campaign, transforming the venue into a dynamic playground where fashion, art, music, and sport collided in one immersive celebration.

Designed as a jersey-themed party, the event drew in a diverse crowd of young creatives and culture enthusiasts, all showing up in expressive football-inspired fits that set the tone for the evening. From the moment guests stepped onto the turf, it was clear this was not just another event, but a carefully curated cultural experience.

The Creators Lab delivered on multiple fronts. A standout fashion showcase highlighted bold, street-inspired designs that reimagined football jerseys as canvases of self-expression. Around the venue, art installations added a visual layer to the experience, reinforcing the intersection between sport and creativity. At the DJ box, a rotating lineup of selectors kept the energy high, blending sounds that carried the crowd seamlessly from one moment to the next.

True to its Sportainment theme, football remained at the heart of the experience. Teams from different parts of Kampala, alongside Creator Kampala, took to the turf in a series of engaging matches that brought out both competition and camaraderie. The action on the pitch mirrored the energy off it, with fans rallying behind their teams in a lively, community-driven atmosphere.

And in true Guinness fashion, the English Premier League took center stage. Fans gathered for a live screening that saw Arsenal fall to Manchester City, a result that tightened the title race to just three points. The match added an extra layer of excitement to the evening, sparking passionate reactions and shared moments among attendees.

Speaking at the event, Guinness brand representative Sandra Againe emphasized the intention behind the Creators Lab platform, noting that it goes beyond entertainment to create meaningful opportunities for young people.

“The Guinness Smooth Creators Lab is about giving young creatives real platforms to express themselves, grow, collaborate, and access opportunities, not just perform. It’s part of our ‘Make It Yours’ campaign, encouraging people to own their craft and create authentic, unscripted moments,” she said.

She added that the continued evolution of the platform through partnerships like Ekikumba Fusion allows Guinness Smooth to reach new creative communities while expanding the boundaries of expression.

This latest edition builds on a growing series of Creators Labs that have spanned fashion, digital art, influencer marketing, content creation, and music, each one intentionally designed to tap into different creative ecosystems across Kampala. With every edition, the platform continues to deepen its impact, shifting from one-off events to a sustained movement that empowers the next generation of creatives.
