When socialite Jack Pemba splashed Shs100m on sponsoring this year’s Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards (ASFAs), it was a worthwhile investment as it gave his significant other Sheeba Kassami a continental platform to debut her SKP fashion label.

A lawyer by training, Sheeba decided to choose deal with sketches, fabrics, cuts and seams over legalese and her choice is already paying off as she is dressing some of the powerful women in the country.

But her designs have been a well-kept secret until Friday’s ASFAs at the Kampala Serene Hotel where she got to share the stage with continental fashion powerhouses David Tlale and Mai Atafo at her debut.

Kassami’s showcase was fused with dance.

A proud Jack Pemba was in the audience watching with glee, in company of associates who came all the way from the Middle East just to see what SKP was all about among other business prospects in the country.
