Dr. Kizza Besigye is one of the most recognised faces in Uganda for the last 17 years. The medical doctor chose to leave the hospital wards and theatres and opted to fight for the liberation of Uganda.

NRA won the battle in 1986 and took over power but for Kizza Besigye, its not yet over. He shipped out of NRM government. He has unsuccessfully ran for the presidency in 2001, 2006, 2011, and 2016 presidential elections, losing all of them to the incumbent Yoweri Museveni, who has been President since 26 January 1986.

Today, he is the face of the opposition politics in the country. We at a brief look at his life.
