NBS’ Solomon Sserwanja is safe as Police has not yet produced an arrest warrant

Vivian Nakaliika Sserwanja wife to award winning media personality Solomon Serwanja has today morning been arrested.

Vivian was arrested with three other journalists and detained at Central Police Station (CPS). The arrested journalists include Kassim Muhammed, Rashid Kaweesa and Godfrey Bandebye. Two of the arrested journalists work for BBC, a British public service broadcaster.

The security operatives surrounded Sserwanja’s home today morning looking for Solomon who wasn’t at home at the moment prompting them to arrest his wife.

According to one of Sserwanja’s colleagues, he is safe. Police has not yet issued him an arrest warrant but he is willing to cooperate with the police if summoned with an arrest warrant.

Solomon Sserwanja was working on an investigative story in conjunction with two other journalists from the British Broadcasting Corporation.

Police spokesperson Enaga has promised to issue a statement shortly regarding the matter.
