It’s the festive season and everyone is planning around what to do for Christmas and New Year; infact tycoon Sudhir Ruaprelia’s Speke Group of Hotels has several fun activities from Christmas luncheons at Speke Resort Munyonyo and his other establishments to New Year fetes.

However, what sets him apart is that Christmas is done and dusted in as far as preparations are concerned. He is now looking at the Easter period and projects that his latest hospitality offering Paradise Island will be ready.

Located just 20 minutes by speedboat from Speke Resort Munyonyo, the luxury retreat is set to become Uganda’s newest high-end destination for honeymooners, holidaymakers and corporate groups seeking exclusivity and tranquillity.

Work on the resort began on 1 May 2021 as part of a broader effort to boost domestic and international tourism. The project promises guests a blend of privacy, natural beauty and modern comfort on one of Lake Victoria’s scenic islands.

The project initially featured 22 units, but rising demand projections led to the addition of 16 more in the second phase.

The resort now offers a diverse accommodation portfolio, including 10 Standard Cottages, 11 Standard Cliff Hanger Cottages with panoramic lake views, 14 Deluxe Two-Bedroom Cottages, and 3 Executive Villas for guests seeking premium seclusion.

Set on 19 acres of land, Paradise Island Resort is bordered by a rocky neighbouring island rich in indigenous trees and home to large bird populations — a natural attraction for bird-watching enthusiasts.

The resort is part of a list of hospitality developments by the Ruparelia Group, including the expansion of Kabira Country Club, the Speke Resort Convention Centre, Kingdom Hotel and Ssese Beach Resort.
