Tycoon Karim Hirji has been sued by his step children over property that belonged to their late mother Ziba Nanyonga Hirji.

Court documents indicate that Ronald Birungi, Linda Birungi, and Anita Birungi, three of the late Nanyonga’s six biological children have sued their step father Hirji, on allegations that he forged a will to indicate that he and his employee Joseph Ssempebwa were beneficiaries of the deceased’s properties.

There are properties, some of which have been sold, are in Kampala and Wakiso including others in the United Kingdom plus accounts in local and foreign banks.

Their mother Ziba Nanyonga alias Cham passed away on February 4, 2004 in the United Kingdom. Court granted Karim and Ssempebwa probate over her estates in Novemebr 2004.

A probate is a legal document which confirms that the executor has the authority to deal with the deceased person’s assets.

The children say that the will Karim used to be granted probate was concocted.

Court has summoned the accused to file their defence within 15 days.
