Police driver who knocked Besigye supporter in viral video has been arrested

The newly appointed police spokesperson Afande Felix Kaweesi has kicked off his job with a big announcement  – the arrest of Benon Mastiko a police truck driver who knocked down Besigye supporter last month.





Mastiko has been arrested basing on a video which appeared on NTV that showed police car knocking down a pedestrian.

The suspect who is also attached to Kira Road police station was presented to the media today by Afande Felix Kaweesi.

“We have paraded this driver for public accountability. It took long because the footage wasn’t clear. We condemn misconduct,” Kaweesi said.
