As many Ugandans are still angered by our 21-member squad that represented Uganda in the just concluded Rio Olympics in Brazil, where we came out without a medal, Sports Minister Charles Bakkabulindi says he is happy with our performance.

He further backed his statement saying that the other teams were much more prepared than our team and the bad weather Rio de Janeiro during the course of the events also hindered our team from performing as expected.

However, the minister advised that it was a lesson to learn and a time for Uganda to go back to the drawing board and revive more games like javelin (spear throwing) where we can be able to perform better. “Countries like Jamaica major in short distance races and that’s why they are now winning medals,” he added.
