Due to the numerous records that have been broken during the competition, many people believe that the Qatar 2022 World Cup is the best World Cup ever played.

Argentina ultimately defeated defending champion France on penalties to claim the most prestigious trophy.

Every World Cup sees records fall, and the Qatar World Cup was no exception as several records were set.

Most goals scored in a FIFA World Cup

The tournament in Qatar recorded a stunning 172 goals scored in the 64 games played in the competition including six thrilling goals in the final.

The competition in Qatar overtook the record of 171 goals scored previously set jointly in 1998 when France hosted the World Cup and in 2014 when Germany was the host.

Cristiano Ronaldo becomes the first to score in five World Cups

Cristiano Ronaldo became the first ever player to score in five different World Cups after finding the net for Portugal against Ghana on November 24.

The 37-year-old converted a second-half penalty to give Portugal the lead.

Morocco becomes the first African country to make it to the semi-finals

As the first African team to ever reach the semi-finals of a World Cup, the Atlas Lions’ story has been one of the highlights of Qatar 2022.

Morocco couldn’t take bronze at the World Cup, with Croatia emerging 2-1 victors at the Khalifa International Stadium in Saturday’s third-place play-off.

Messi becomes the only player to score goals in all matches of the 2022 World Cup

The popular footballer has scored in every match he has played in this World Cup. He helped his team gain an edge in the 23rd minute by scoring the first goal in the final, last evening.

Messi, often called the ‘Greatest of All Time’, has also scored in every stage of this tournament: – the group stage, the round of 16, the quarterfinals, the semifinals, and the final.

First men’s World Cup with a female referee
For the first time ever at the men’s world cup, there were female referees, including Stephanie Frappart, Yamashita Yoshimi, and Salima Mukansanga.

Stephanie Frappart became the first woman to officiate a men’s World Cup match. She was the referee for the game between Germany and Costa Rica on December 1.
