The NRM electoral commission chairman Dr Tanga Odoi has this morning stated that President Museveni lost support of the urban population who would not mourn his departure if he resigned.
Appearing on Morning Breeze at NBS, Odoi said Museveni’s support has only remained in villages and they are the people that would be bothered if he resigned like Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe.
“History has it that leaders everywhere do not have the support of the elite… Why? Because we want to see theory being turned into reality,” he said.
However, he also insisted that the Mugabe story can never happen in Uganda.
