While representing Kawempe  as the mayor, he showed up for nominations of a boda boda as his counterparts hired sleek vehicles. With the convoy, he made a statement as a man of the people and got rewarded.

He was also involved is in a bitter exchange with controversial Muslim cleric, Sheikh Muzaata which went viral and later kidnapping himself during the 2011 general elections.

The stunt paid off as he found his way to Parliament. As a legislator, Munyagwa attracted media attention for comic relief! He popularly features on Political parodies like NTV’s Point Blank!

In 2017, he made a surprise move as he vied for the FDC presidency! However, the Kawempe North MP withdrew from the FDC presidential race in favor of Patrick Oboi Amuriat.  Munyagwa told a rally in Bugiri that after studying Amuriat’s manifesto, he realized that all he was aiming at offering FDC as its president has already been captured.

In 2018, Amuriat appointed him chairperson of the committee on Commissions, Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE).

To political players, as comical as he might seem, Munyagwa surely is an ambitious man who is capitalising on his oppourtunities and can’t be taken for granted!
