Val is the brain behind ‘the Back to Basics’ bash; a celebration of musical classics and hits stretching back to the musical years of the 70s, 80s, predominantly 90s and lately music up to 2005 slated for this Saturday August 20 at Diner’s Lounge, Bukoto.

According to Val, the party aims at bringing his peers, those older and slightly younger, together at an all-day musical experience where they get an opportunity to step into ‘the musical time machine and enjoy the ride to the past, when ‘music was music.’

And Uganda Breweries Limited through their Johnnie Walker Red Label brand have taken full sponsorship of the Back to Basics #8 referred to as ‘The Re.Birth’

According to Val, seven renowned DJ’s are on the roaster to cater for all musical tastes from RnB, lingala, hip hop to slows. They include Selector Jay from Guvnor, DJ BK, Sanyu FM’s DJ Pita, DJ Moze and DJ Bonni Legend. Others will include veteran radio host Alex Ndawula.

“The showcase will be complete with Barbeque, board games, dool, mini basketball and kwepena activities. Doors open at 2pm and cover charge is 20k.
